最近的英语麦克风很喜欢引用美国历史名人的演讲，昨天是罗斯福，今天是肯尼迪的演讲，而明天则是马丁路德金了。

We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom �C symbolizing an end as well as a beginning -signifying renewal as well as change. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, thatwe shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it �C and the glow from that fire can truly light the world. And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you �C ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.

金句发音讲解

  1. Pay和any连接的时候在[ei]和[e]之间会增加一个[j]的音，读的时候还要注意any是小嘴[e]而不是梅花音[?]；

  2. Bear和any也是增音连读，英音[be?]词尾的[?]和[e]之间在连读时会增加一个[r]的音，而美音[b?r]就没有这个问题，直接做辅元连读就可以了；

  3. Burden的英音发音中['b??d(?)n]的[?]可省略，而美音重['b?dn]则没有这个元音；

  4. meet any和support and辅元连读，可以浊化后连读，也可直接清辅音连读，根据个人习惯，在口腔放松的情况下[t]可以浊化发音；

  5. hardship里面的[d]可以失爆，至少读的时候不要读的太重；

  6. oppose any辅元连读；

  7. survival[s?'va?vl]里面的双元音[ai]是需要尽量夸张发音的，而词尾的舌侧音不要读成儿化音；

  8. and the的连接过度；

  9. success of的辅元连读。

语法和习语

  1. We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom这里的observe A (as) B就是把A看做B的意思。原文中嵌套加了not but的句型；

  2. whether it wishes us well or ill我们把这里翻译为不管他们安得好心还是坏心，直接的意思就是不管他们盼着我们好还是盼着我们病；

  3. pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe都是非常好的词语搭配，平时我们用的机会很多，但总想不起来的那种；

  4. light our country and all who serve it这个部分中light是动词，后面的our country和all都是light作用的对象，辨析句子的时候需要注意解剖句子结构；

  5. the glow from that fire can truly light the world熊熊火焰的光芒将照耀全世界，非常具有画面感的句子；

  6. ask not what your country can do for you �C ask what you can do for your country这句话就更不用说了，在大量的影视作品动画片中被引用或改造后引用。
